Gary L. Tornes grew up in Internation Falls, MN. He was wounded twice while serving as an infantry squad leader in Vietnam during 1966 and 1967. Tornes attended St. Cloud University and later received his Business Degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Tornes moved to Wisconsin where he worked for a large construction and engineering firm. He has since retired in Northern Wisconsin.
